School Partnership
The bulk of the PTA’s work and funding goes to activities and programs we partner on with Maple Grove Elementary School and its staff:
Funding for Staff & Infrastructure
Every year the PTA funds between two and four full-time paraprofessional staff, in addition to technology, outdoor toy boxes, playground equipment, carpet, and many other school needs. At the start of each school year, each teacher is also given a budget to purchase classroom supplies and books so they don’t spend their own money to stock their rooms. We set aside money for special projects that come up each year, too–from school signage to replacing sports equipment. If you’re curious where we’ve directed funding this year, check out our most recent financial statements.
School Accountability Committee
The school, as mandated by law, operates a School Accountability Committee (SAC) where discussions about testing, curriculum, and standards take place. The Committee is open to the community and you’re welcome to attend quarterly meetings. Watch for information about meeting dates and times from school emails.

School Programs
The PTA organizes a number of extracurricular programs for students each year, and they’re a ton of fun! We hope you’ll participate in some or all of them (see below).

Talent Show
Every fall, we host a night of talented Grizzlies strutting their stuff on stage. Performances include singing, dancing, comedy, magic, gymnastics, jump rope, acting, piano, and lots of heart. All grades and skill levels are encouraged to participate! Acts should be 2-3 minutes in length. We provide microphones, audio equipment, and the stage–students provide the vision, the talent, and the courage to perform!
Grove Gallery
Every spring, we host a showing of recent artwork by our incredible Grizzly artists! Masterpieces include paintings, sculptures, drawings, photography, and lots of color. All grades and skill levels are encouraged to participate! Final pieces will be displayed at the school during an evening gallery tour.
Science Fair
Every spring, we host a science fair chock full of great questions and investigations into how the world works. Students explore chemistry, physics, biology, geology, and more in their thoughtful submissions. All grades and skill levels are encouraged to participate! Projects will be displayed at the school and junior scientists will present their projects to judges and visitors.
School Choir
The PTA funds the school choir, The Singing Grizzlies. Students practice weekly over a few months in advance of a delightful spring concert. This year’s choir rehearsals started November 10 and are held Thursdays 2:30-3:30. Grades 3-5 are invited to participate, and no previous experience is necessary. To participate, please email Ms. Tribby at laura.tribby@jeffco.k12.co.us.
After School Programs
Throughout the year, the PTA identifies and coordinates with after school programs that host classes at Maple Grove. These classes include sports, language, dance, science, art, engineering, and more. Check back regularly to see what we've got on tap! If there is an after school program you’d like to teach or see offered, please email mgpta2020programs@gmail.com.
