Board of Directors
The PTA Board is made up of five elected positions and several appointed positions. Together, this team of volunteers plans, organizes, budgets, recruits, fundraises, and runs many programs and events that make the Maple Grove community a great place to be. The Board operates according to the PTA chapter bylaws and holds monthly Board meetings.

My daughter, Cameron, is in first grade at Maple Grove. I got involved with the PTA because initially I was super excited to be able to volunteer at school. The more I learned about all the incredible things PTA is able to do because of parents' time and donations, the more I wanted to help. My favorite thing about Maple Grove is the community. I've loved meeting so many new people - it's nice to know you're not alone in this adventure!

My son, Will, is in first grade at Maple Grove. I got involved with the PTA to help ensure that every student and family feels welcome at Maple Grove and has what they need to grow, learn, and thrive! My favorite thing about Maple Grove is how much the community cares about our school and kids! The Maple Grove community is really engaged in and committed to building a bright future for us all.

My son, Thejas, is in 3rd grade, and my daughter, Priya, is a Maple Grove alum and in middle school. I wanted to be part of PTA to have direct knowledge of events and activities and to be part of my kids' education! I started as a Watch Dog and it went from there. I love being in the know about all the amazing things PTA contributes to the school and how our support enhances the school overall. I hope more people will become involved and continue to support our school and community.

My daughter Teagan is in 5th grade and my daughter Ainsley is in 3rd grade. I got involved with the PTA To make a difference and support our teachers. They are the foundation of our community and deserve so much more. My favorite thing about Maple Grove is the sense of community pride that comes out when there are school & community events and the community's support of our school. The school is the foundation that brings our children and community together.

I have two sons at Maple Grove: Willie in 4th grade and Monty in 2nd grade. I got involved with the PTA because I wanted to help make the school the best school it can be. Having a community where my boys can ride their bikes to school and have neighborhood friends is my favorite thing about Maple Grove.

I was born in Chicago and my family relocated to Applewood when I was 3 years old. After graduating from Wheat Ridge High School, I attended Metropolitan State College and received my Bachelor’s in Elementary Education in 1988, and my Master’s in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of Phoenix in 1992. A fun fact about me is I grew up raising, riding, and training horses. I spent my childhood riding with the Westernaires. I am looking forward to a great year of learning for me, teachers and students as we implement our new literacy curriculum.

I have two kids at Maple Grove: my daughter Sawyer in 2nd grade and my son Brooks is in Kindergarten. Being in the PTA has been a wonderful way to get to know how and why the school makes its decisions and also affords me a voice in the direction the school is going. It also is a fun way to meet other parents who are interested in getting involved, as well as getting to know the teachers and faculty. I love being a part of the Grizzly Community! I love getting to know every single teacher, parent, kid, faculty member I meet. I feel so lucky that our family gets to experience it all!

My oldest son, Nash, is in 1st grade at Maple Grove. My older son, James, is in second grade and my younger son, Thomas, is in Kindergarten. It feels really meaningful to give back to the teachers and staff, who do so much for our children with so much selfless support and love. I really believe that it takes a village to raise our children and I have found that village in the PTA and the Maple Grove community at large. The neighborhood community is my favorite thing! My family and I have made so many lasting friendships because of where we live. We love riding our bikes and walking around the neighborhood and seeing all of our favorite people on a daily basis! We are so blessed to have amazing support systems and friends, and a big part of that is because of Applewood and Maple Grove Elementary.

My son Harrison is in 1st grade at Maple Grove, and we have a younger daughter. Harrison really loves his teachers and his school! We have both grown a love for the community at Maple Grove and how involved and giving our PTA program is. I love giving back to the school and cultivating relationships with teachers and other families in the Maple Grove community. It has been wonderful to be apart of a community that cares so much and helps create lifelong memories for the kids at Maple Grove.

My stepdaughter, Neva, is in second grade and my stepson, Noah, is at Manning. Strong schools are built and sustained by strong communities. I want to help Maple Grove continue to provide an excellent education and learning environment for its students. Also, as an LGBTQ step-mom, I'm not your typical PTA member! I want to help celebrate the diversity in our community and ensure that all kids and families can thrive at Maple Grove. My favorite thing about Maple Grove is the Grizzly spirit! I love how passionate our kids are, and I love how enthusiastic the teachers and parents are about creating a fun environment where kids can grow and have a great time doing it!

I was born and raised in Applewood. My dad taught at Everitt Junior High and my mom still lives in my childhood home less than a mile from Maple Grove. So, teaching at Maple Grove truly feels like home. I graduated from Wheat Ridge High School, then I attended Metropolitan State College and received my Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science along with my teaching license in 1992, I then earned my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Math and Science at the University of Colorado Denver. One fun fact about me is that in my 20s, I was a certified skydiver for a short time. Another fun fact is that both my husband and I are scuba diving instructors. Because of that, we get to travel to beautiful dive destinations and explore underwater. I am also a huge Broncos fan. This year I am looking forward to having a fun and successful year with my amazing 2nd graders!
